House Frontage October - 2011

Built in 1966, the house itself is only a five minute walk from the centre of Lorgues, conveniently placed for shops, restaurants and the town's many facilities. Despite its proximity to the town, the property stands in its own large wooded grounds of 3567mē. Standing on the highest of the three levels, the main house occupies an enviable elevated position overlooking neighbouring fields and vineyards, and its own mid level olive trees and lower level fruit and nut trees. The topography of its special position provides lovely views and has consistently protected the property from any extreme Provencal weather.

The main house is approximately 160mē in size laid out over two floors and was the last of the buildings to be renovated. The layout of the villa is classically Provence in nature: the living accommodation is located on the upper floor, whilst the ground floor contains the master and main guest bedrooms together with a spacious utility and laundry area with wine cave. The upper floor living area was designed to take full advantage of the light and views, and the open plan design offers the feeling of contemporary spacious living. The neighbouring fields and vineyards are readily visible from both the living salon area and the contemporary American-style kitchen. There are two additional rooms on the upper floor which have been flexibly designed so that they can be used either as bedrooms, offices or separate entertainment rooms. The lower floor bedrooms both look out conveniently on to the swimming pool and provide a cool retreat during the summer. There is an underfloor radiant heating system and double glazing throughout, broadband internet cabling in key rooms, satellite TV connections to both floors. Large terraces overlook the enclosed grounds which are made secure with automatic gates and an intercom entry system.
